After some slight downtime, the Splatoon 2 Twitter is back in action. Zink gear is the feature of today’s post, however – all attention is on the strange Japanese memes posted in the replies.
Known in Japan as Ironic 「アイロニック」, Zink gear has a sport-oriented focus in Splatoon. The styles function as sporty and fashionable at the same time. In the original Splatoon, Zink gear had a high chance of rolling Quick Super Jump (a 5% chance), which is handy for play-styles that depend on quick, in-and-out tactics – not much to hate, right?
Interestingly, most of the replies to this post are poking fun of Quick Super Jump. Where and how this meme has originated, I can’t tell you. But it’s entertaining nonetheless.
The comprehensive sports brand, Zink (JPN: Ironic).
With wear that caters to the Sports Scene and shoes to assemble with it, these simple and plain designs are highly popular – even if they’re a fashion item.
The Seahorse Series shoes in particular are becoming a staple of the Street Fashion scene.

Is Zink gear really that bad? Japanese players seem to think so – this Yu-Gi-Oh card is named Zink Curse. Harsh.
When somebody aside from yourself takes gear to Spyke with 2 sub-slots, you can activate this card.
That persons gear becomes Zink (Ironic).
Look at those eyes – they’re the eyes of a perk that you don’t want.
