Were you curious about the arcade cabinet at the front of “Ikachya”? Well, satiate that curiosity – it’s a Rhythm mini-game titled Squid Radio 2.
Inkopolis Square (named “High Colour Square” in Japan) has various stores and amusements scattered around it. In last weekends Splatfest, you may have noticed the Crane Game and DDR Arcade Cabinet. Well, at the front of the recently discussed Ikacha store (Local Play lobby) is another arcade cabinet, and it’s home to the new mini-game Ika Radio 2 (Squid Radio 2).
At the front of Ikacha, is this game cabinet – the 8-bit game 「Ika Radio 2」 (Squid Radio 2).
Here, in addition to listening to the music in this game, you can also play a Rhythm Game.
The song selection will increase as you progress through the game, and all songs will feature 2 levels of difficulty to choose from.
You can have heaps of fun!
pic.twitter.com/09Ur89qh84— Splatoon(スプラトゥーン) (@SplatoonJP) July 18, 2017
They’ve called this an 8-bit game, but the Japanese used here is actually a slight marine-life based pun . アンチョビット reads as “ancho-bit” – “anchovy-bit” – a play on the term 8-bit. Very funny! If that wasn’t enough, the Japanese word 安直「あんちょく・アンチョク」 reads as “anchoku”, and means cheap, simple or inexpensive. You could argue that 8-bit games are all of these things.
Keep those puns fresh, Nintendo.
