You might need more than one Switch for true Splatoon 2 Local Play

Some Local Play details have trickled in through the SplatoonJP Twitter account, and while they don’t deny single Switch Splatoon 2 Local Play being a possibility, they don’t exactly confirm it.

If you’re wondering whether Local Play will be easy or painful in Splatoon 2, fret no more. The SplatoonJP Twitter has revealed where to assemble for Local Play. As for whether it will be easy or hard to setup? Well – a little from A and a little from B. The below screenshot doesn’t make any reference to true Local play, rather, a lot of references to “searching for people nearby” – why would you need to search if they’re next to you?

Splatoon 2 Local Rules

This latest Tweet doesn’t explicitly rule out Local Multiplayer on one Nintendo Switch, but it heavily implies you’ll need more than one Switch to properly enjoy it. Let’s not jump to panic stations just yet, as it’s still early days – we should have more information at launch – which is right around the corner.

「Ikacha」, the amusement zone located in High Square, is the lobby used to enjoy Local Play with nearby people.
You can play Private Matches and Salmon Run here.
Assemble friends that have a Nintendo Switch and have a noisy good time!
You gotta Ikacha!
