Well, that was quick. Squid Kids receive their first DLC weapon tomorrow (7/23) with the Inkbrush – a returning weapon from the original Splatoon.
It’s been less than 2 days, and Splatoon 2 is already getting it’s first piece of DLC – the Inkbrush. The Inkbrush was one of the first Splatoon DLC weapons, and now Splatoon 2 players can get their hands on it, starting from 11am Japan Time, 7/23. That’s roughly 16 hours from now.
It’s not clear when this will hit English regions, but I imagine it will be around the same time. Make sure to Follow on Twitter for the latest translated Japanese Splatoon 2 updates. And, while you’re here, check out some of the other Special Weapons.
Inkbrush
The Inkbrush is similar to the Octobrush, however, it trades ink spread and damage for a much higher speed – it’s essentially a melee weapon. If you didn’t know – the Japanese name for the Inkbrush is Pablo – a neat little reference to the famous artist.
Tomorrow (7/23) at 11am, the new weapon 「Pablo」 (English: Inkbrush) will be added to the game.
With a form similar to an ink brush, it’s power is relatively weak, but it’s ink spreading speed is high!
Wraparound your opponents blind spot, then pour ink all over with repeated blows.

It’s Sub Weapon is the Splat Bomb (JPN: Splash Bomb), and it’s Special Weapon is the Splashdown (JPN: Ink Chakuchi).

Sting Ray

This is the「Sting Ray」- the Special Weapon that allows you to shoot high pressure Ink which pierces through walls.
During last weekend’s Splatfest, you couldn’t really move it around.
However – with this commercial version, Squid Kids that use it can momentarily interrupt their attack to move and re-position.
Quickly withdraw and easily attack, moving to a new position.
There are so many ways that you can use it!
