Players in this weeks Splatoon 2 Splatfest will receive two free pieces of gear – Ability Doubler for voting, and some Super Sea Snails simply for participating. Free Splatoon 2 gear comes to those who wait!
The upcoming Splatfest for Splatoon 2 will provide all participants with free Splatoon 2 gear for use in multiplayer – simply download and receive.
Voting will net you an Ability Doubler Festival T-shirt. Joining in the Splatfest activities will register you with free Super Sea Snails, though the current amount received is unknown.
The Festival T-shirt you receive from voting in the Splatfest has the basic Gear Power “Ability Doubler” attached to it.
Attached to this Gear is the Gear Power effect of doubling your additional abilities effectiveness.
Aside from this T-shirt’s abilities, it will make other Gear Power quite special.

That’s a roundabout way of explaining that the Festival T-shirt has the Ability Doubler effect attached to it. Fairly neat.
Based on the following Tweet, these items will transfer to the retail release, but any money or experience points earned won’t – this is par for the course, and totally fine – it won’t put those who missed the Splatfest at an instant disadvantage from Day 1.
When you participate in the Splatfest, you’ll receive the prize of some Super Sea Snails.
If you hand these over to Spiky, you can expand gear slots, or change Gear Power abilities – it’s a very useful item.
However, in the Splatfest, money and experience points can’t be handed over – and save data can’t be transferred to the retail release.
